Come to Conference - Liverpool, 13th to 15th March 2015

22 Dec 2014

The cheapest rail tickets to the Liverpool Conference on Friday 13th March have just become available from Virgin Trains and Transpennine Express, but they'll go fast and prices will head upwards quickly so today's the best day to take advantage of the pre-Christmas lull and start sorting out your Conference travel arrangements.

Rail tickets back home from Conference on Sunday 15th March should become available in the next few days.

We'll be there as usual, and our fringe event will focus on Caste Discrimination; it's at 1pm on Saturday 14th March in the main conference centre.

There's been no sign so far of the promised government consultation on Caste Discrimination that was supposed to take place this summer - so

  • why the delay?
  • will there be any progress before the 2015 elections?
  • and does caste discrimination really matter, or even exist, in 21st century Britain?

Julian Huppert, Lord Avebury and Lord Lester have all been asking questions in Parliament about the delay, and Julian will be one of our star panellists, alongside Meena Varma of the Dalit Solidarity Network. We've also invited Jo Swinson - more news later on whether she's accepted.

As always, there'll be the rally, conference policy debates, plenty of fringe meetings, opportunities to meet and question our ministers, the exhibition (where you can get to know some of the party's many member groups) and the leader's speech to round things off.

You don't have to be an elected Federal Conference Representative to come to Conference - you'll still be able to go to all the events, and contribute to the debates. But your vote at Conference really could help to decide party policy, and most local parties still have vacancies, so if you decide to come to Conference do check with your local party and find out if they can co-opt you as a Conference Rep.

You'll find much more information on the LibDem Conference pages.

See you there!
